Children's Programs
For
Schools, Home Schools, Libraries, Scout Troops & Camps, Church
Schools

Children
were born with music inside them. We, as parents and caregivers,
need to include music in our lives and share it with our children to
help them grow and learn.
Music
programs will enhance your
child's ability to experience music,
keeping rhythms, cooperating with others and remembering words.

Traditional
Family Sing-a-longs
Children
of all ages will enjoy a traditional family sing-a-long with Bonnie and
the Guitar. She will also bring out the Appalachian Mountain
Dulcimer, talk about it's history and show how it's played.
Bonnie will pass out spoons and the children will learn how to keep a
beat together and then play the spoons while Bonnie plays the
dulcimer. The children will enjoy Bonnie's basket of instruments
made from nature and will get to see a Limberjack. Parents are
encouraged to join.

Hands on
Class fun for Children or Adults
Usually
a one hour class or school class period. Bonnie will bring 30
full sized teaching dulcimers. The children each will get to
learn the history of the instrument, see it played then learn how to
hold the instrument, strum and play a song in one class time frame.
Bonnie will bring her basket of spoons and they will get to see how the
spoons were played and all will learn how to play the spoons as a group.
This
class goes well in Schools, Libraries, Summer camps, Retreats or
Churches.
As a School Program, Bonnie would sit in a class room and as the class
periods change the children would come to her class. This is
usually good for reaching all of one grade, From 3rd Grade on up.
This program goes well with some 4th Grade music books and their folk
music section.
